Fellowship Congregational Church UCC

God Is Still Speaking

For over fifty years, Fellowship Congregational Church has sought to be an alternative to dogmatic religion, providing a supportive community for each person’s spiritual quest. The Bible is taken seriously, not literally. Questions are honored.

Members’ care and concern extend not only to each other, but also to the world at large. Fellowship Congregational Church has consistently taken the lead on difficult issues of social justice, peace, and freedom, not only in Tulsa but beyond, through consistent and generous support of worldwide service organizations.

Education, music, worship and fellowship are the hallmarks of active participation.

Fellowship Congregational Church, an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ, seeks to be:

  • In covenant with faithful people of all ages, languages, races, gender, abilities, economic class and sexual orientation,
  • A Haven for Families seeking respite and inspiration.
  • An Intergenerational Community for all.
  • A Beacon for peace, justice, and freedom in a hurting world.
  • A Solace for those hurt by harmful religion.

About the United Church of Christ:

The United Church of Christ is a mainline Protestant denomination formed by the union of the Congregational Christian and the Evangelical and Reformed (E&R) Churches. Their predecessors include the Pilgrims and New England Congregationalists, who pioneered our country’s democratic institutions and whose pursuit of justice led them to defend the Amistad captives, an early event in the movement to abolish slavery. The E&R churches derive from the liberal wing of the German Reformation.

Fellowship Congregational Church was the only UCC congregation in eastern Oklahoma for 50 years. We are pleased there are now two other congregations, Community of Hope, one mile east of us at 2545 S. Yale, and OpenTable UCC in Owasso at 202 S. Cedar, Ste. E.

The United Church of Christ is characterized by respect for individual belief, local church governance, honor of various worship traditions, and active involvement in the world to further justice and create hope for all.
